A property-based residence permit is a short-term permit for foreign home owners. Under current practice (since October 2023) the home's value in a licensed valuation report must be at least USD 200,000 in all provinces, the property must be used as a residence and the neighbourhood must be open to new applications.
Which property qualifies
- a residential property registered to the applicant (land and commercial units do not qualify);
- valuation at or above the threshold;
- ideally with an occupancy permit and condominium title;
- located in a neighbourhood open to applications on the filing date.
Family members
The owner's spouse and minor children may also obtain permits on this basis, with apostilled and translated marriage and birth certificates.
Renewal
Renew via e-ikamet within the last 60 days; you must still own and live in the property. Properties bought before the current threshold may be subject to special rules, assessed case by case.
